finding the brazen me, again


Do you ever know what you should be doing and you just don't do it?
Surely I am not alone in this, what with all the quotes flying around pinterest like...

A year from now you'll wish you'd started today

Discipline is doing what you know needs to be done even when you don't want to

It's never a question of can you, but will you

I know what I need it to do and I just need to do it.
Dropping some more pounds, moving more, cooking healthier... yes.
But I need to apply discipline in other areas of my life, too.
Saying no, being patient, loving selflessly, turning off the computer, writing the words deep down, worrying less.

The brazen me is there daring me to do what I know I should.
What I know I can.

  1. We look to be about the same size, and that is a great picture of you btw! It's hard to lose weight or start dieting when you have outfits that you LOVE and when you take pictures like the one above. It is def hard, but when you are READY to do it..it will be easy. I've been working really hard on making healthier choices (with hopes of losing weight) but I've been focusing on fresh fruits and veggies, and lots of seasoning instead of butter or fat. It takes work, but for me it just clicked. I had had enough...I was unhappy with my weight. Some outfits looks good on me, but it was what I had to go through to find that outfit, you know? So, the best of luck to you! :) If you ever want to swap recipes, I'm game!

    The rest of the stuff on your list...well, probably not as easy. But Jesus helps! My husband and I recently started doing a Bible Study together. The topic is When God Speaks, but I don't think the topic really matters. Just spending that time together learning how to be better Christians has done wonderful things for us. I totally recommend it to anyone who has the desire to improve.

  3. Girl, it's HARD. Trust me, I'm in the same boat. I've been trying to drop some pounds that I've picked up through sheer laziness and lack of discipline and now I'm paying for it. The only way it works for me is in small steps. Within a few weeks there's a bigger life change and it's easier to maintain. You can do it :-)

  5. just take it day by day and don't beat yourself up! we all have stuff we have to work on. i am 32, not overweight, but an out of shape type 1 diabetic with borderline high cholesterol! thank goodness it dropped from last time and now its just time to make some healthier choices to keep it that way. i refuse to be on lipitor in my 30s :)
