weekend update

Justin and I have called Tuscaloosa home for five years now.
We have tons of memories there... it's where we got engaged.
Where we bought our first home.
Celebrated our first Christmas.
As I am sure you know by now, Tuscaloosa & other surrounding cities were decimated by a tornado this past Wednesday.

Justin and I were actually in Tuscaloosa (more on that later) missing the storm by 30 precious minutes.
Our house is still standing.
Many others, including some of our friends, were not as fortunate.
Our hearts are heavy as we see the images of our home city in such a state of destruction and sadness.
Please say a prayer for peace & restoration for all those affected.
We are greatful we were spared, but grieve for those who have lost much.
The happy weekending post below was pre-posted before the storm hit.
I thought about deleting it... kinda seemed frivolous given the current state of things.
However, I decided to leave it as a reminder to look for happiness wherever it may be found...
A hug from a neighbor.
A visit from our president.
The kindness of a stranger.

Sorrow makes us all children again- destroys all differences of intellect. The wisest know nothing.

  1. Hey Molly! Just wanted to let you know that we're praying continually and doing all that we can down here. Let us know if there's anything specific that you know of!

  2. so glad you guys are okay... and that your house is still standing. what a blessing. miss you both...

  3. I wondered if you were in town or not. We got spared too, but the town where I teach and everything that surrounds's horrible.

So glad you still have a house to pack up :)
