The Adventure

Since moving from our home state of Alabama, Justin and I have lived in California, Texas and New York. We are grateful to be living this grand adventure. Here's our thoughts on each of the places we've lived.

Alameda, California

Alameda is an island town. Does it get any better than that? Yes, actually...
Not only do you have amazing views of the San Francisco skyline, you can walk the very streets of San Francisco for yourself... it's only a short subway ride away.

California Love
Tucker's Ice Cream, Downtown Alameda

Ferry Building, San Francisco // Amazing shops, cafes, farmer's market

Sausalito, CA // Beautiful waterfront city just across the Golden Gate Bridge

Napa Valley // Need I say more?

other favs:
Cable Car Ride // Lombard Street // Ghirardelli Square // The Painted Ladies // See's Candy//
Coit Tower // Golden Gate // Alameda Theatre // Burma Superstar

Dallas, Texas

Dallas is a city filled with numerous places to eat and shop. Only, you'll need your car to do so. Coming from California where we relied solely on public transportation, this was quite a transition. Dallas brought the closeness of family & a dear high school friend. Justin also loved his work environment in Dallas which was a major bonus.

Texas Love
Joe T. Garcia's Mexican Restaurant in Fort Worth // Texas State Fair // Dallas Arboretum

Weekend trip to Austin
Cupcakes from an Airstream // Unique Shops // Unbeatable college friends

other favs:
Picnics at the park // Gaylord ICE! exhibit // Fort Worth // Central Market grocery

New York, New York

Living in New York City is the fulfillment of a childhood dream. Sometimes I think, I really do live here. Of course, there's the typical albeit wonderful things: broadway shows, high-end shopping, renown restuarants. But the things I love most? The things that are off-the-beaten path. The things you learn from actually living here... like how to buy groceries for the week and that the best muffins come from the butcher shop and that the best bookstores are the ones you stumble upon. This city has made an imprint on my heart like none other... surprise, surprise.

New York Love
The Campbell Apartment // snow outside our window // Strand Books

Ottomanelli muffins // Grand Central Station // Glaser's Bake Shop + Antique store

other favs:
Sunshine Theatre // Bryant Park movie + picnic // Rockwood Music Hall
The High Line // Grimaldi's Pizza // Bleeker Street
John's Pizzeria // Outdoor dining // Oren's coffee
Comic Strip  // Central Park  // Upright Citizens Brigade

The great adventure continues...
